Reflections on the Amazon

I am very fortunate to have been on the Amazon over twenty times in the past, and it is always an exciting adventure because no matter how many times I travel there, I always find new birds, reptiles or mammals that I have not seen previously. As a youngster, extremely excited about anything to do with nature, I dreamed of places like the Amazon. My first trip to the Amazon was my dream come true and the excitement has lasted and is just as exciting on trips today as it was fifteen years ago. The Amazon is a magical destination, and sharing its splendor with people - whether it is their first adventure, or second, or third - is always thrilling. The Amazon is a rainforest like no other on Earth and holds mysteries, discoveries and a magnetism that constantly pulls me towards this greatest of all rivers.
