By some estimates, an astonishing one in ten known species in the world live in the Amazon rainforest. To date, the count includes: 378 reptile species, 427 mammal species, 428 amphibian species, 1,294 bird species, 3,000 fish species, 40,000 plant species, over 128,000 invertebrates species, and 2.5 million insect species.
